Advance Construction Trading and Contracting (ADCON) is fully committed to effectively managing and improving our environmental performance and minimizing the impacts of our business on the environment. We will do this through proactively looking at our impacts throughout project lifespans and through the services we offer to clients.

We are committed to continual improvement and compliance with our Environmental Management System which we operate in accordance with BS EN ISO 14001:2004.

Advance Construction Trading and Contracting (ADCON) strives for environmental excellence in all our activities and as part of our commitment to the environment we will:

  • Minimize pollution from our works by developing work methods that reduce the risk of environmental damage.
  • Maintain an Environmental Management System.
  • Continuously improve our Environmental Management System.
  • Develop environmental objectives and targets and review our performance against these objectives and targets.
  • Communicate our Environmental Policy to all employees and subcontractors.
  • Contribute to energy saving by offering eco-conscious products and work methods to our clients where possible.
  • Reclaim used materials where appropriate and recycle them where possible.
  • Maintain awareness of environmental-related legislation and regulations and ensure our compliance as necessary.
  • Train our employees and subcontractors on environmental awareness.
  • Strive to be a leader in Environmental Management in construction.

To achieve this , ADCON will :

  • Meet all necessary legal and regulatory requirements
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure that all employees, suppliers and sub-contractors working for the company are aware of their responsibilities and understand how they should comply in accordance with HSQE legislation, Railway Group Standards and Network Rail Standards
  • Ensure employees, suppliers and subcontractors are appropriately trained to enable them to carry out their work in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Engage and work with relevant external bodies such as the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, Water Companies, and (where applicable) Railway regulators to ensure successful completion of our works.
  • Maintain and continually improve its environmental management system
  • Develop meaningful environmental performance indicators to measure resource use, waste and emissions
  • Provide a well-structured and organized approach to site organization and management
  • Clearly determine the requirements of environmental management and assign responsibility to site personnel
  • Constantly monitor environmental management aspects on site in a systematic way and record all environmental issues
  • Manage our construction sites in an environmentally sensitive manner
  • Operate a thoughtful buying policy, selecting whenever practical, alternative products, plant, equipment and other physical assets, materials and services that cause less damage to the environment
  • Minimize and where possible eliminate the use of environmentally sensitive materials and polluting substances
  • Minimize waste and reduce consumption of materials and promote reuse and recycling
  • Use materials from renewable sources
  • Ensure compliance with regulations for noise, waste disposal and energy use
  • Use methods of construction that are sympathetic to the environment
  • Continuously improve environmental awareness in the light of new research and developments
